MISSION
Mission: To leverage our wealth of local literary treasure, in an environmentally sustainable way, to connect both residents and tourists to the diverse literary voices and places of Exeter, NH for the benefit of children and adults, the local arts community, and local businesses.
Our Story
In January 2018 a group of twelve local people gathered to discuss a possibility of a town literary festival that would also promote diversity. This group of teachers, writers, librarians, booksellers and activists had long discussions on how to represent the vibrancy of Exeter’s literary scene. They humbly present you with two options; a festival each April, and a walking trail map of literary hot spots in downtown Exeter. In addition, there is a really fun fundraiser every year.
In 2019, Exeter LitFest became a 501(c)3 non-profit. Board meetings are open to the public and occur four times a year as determined by the Board. The annual meeting is held no more than three weeks after the event. Board terms are two years. Please contact us for more information.
